Review:
The movie begins on a romantic note, showing Gippy Grewal (Tittu) infatuated with Simran (Sapna), a student at his college. The majority of the romantic sequences in the movie are dominated by Guru's "Aja Ni Aja," however this love tale takes a turn when Tittu proposes to Simran and receives a "let's just be friends" reaction. When asked to describe her ideal partner, she gives a description that perfectly captures the entire package that will be revealed to the audience in the very next scene, where he will steal our breath away.
Binnu Dhillon made such an impact with his submission that I had to cheer for him. He has never before seemed to be so "Hot." His portrayal of "Gill Bai" brings out an incredible amount of swagger that most likely few creators ever saw in him. The word is "wow."
His mafiapanti introduces the spectator to his opponent, who is ultimately the one who shoots him to death and is portrayed by Jaggi Singh. At that point, Gill Bai accidentally picks up Tittu instead of the death deity. The moment Tittu is exposed to life beyond death, the movie starts to drag a little.
Unfortunately, none of the individuals in the afterlife seem to be intentionally there for comic relief. The film's worst section is that particular sequence.
The current happenings on the ground are still fascinating. The humorous persona switching by Gill and the sweet romantic ties between Tittu's soul and Simran are both enjoyable.
The movie finishes well, but you're left wondering: "Who is to blame for the error?" The creators wanted to add a new aspect of the afterlife to the genre they were attempting, however either the VFX or the art design fell short of the expectations.
Gippy Grewal has a rather understated usage of himself in the movie. He did his part properly and in a way that matches his persona. Even though he doesn't appear to be at college, thankfully not much of his college experience is seen in the movie. His and Binnu's on-screen connection is hilarious, and they make others laugh.
